Ukraine measures: Fee waivers
We’re waiving fees for certain types of applications for people affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
If you’re eligible for a waiver but have already paid the fee, we’ll issue a refund to you automatically. You do not need to request a refund.
Ukrainian nationals and their family members
Ukrainian nationals and eligible family members do not need to pay fees for
- temporary resident visas
- temporary resident permits
- temporary resident status extensions (visitor record)
- restoration of status
- study permits and extensions
- work permits and extensions (including open work permits)
- biometrics
Canadian citizens and permanent residents
You are not eligible for a fee waiver if you applied for one of the documents or services below and your application was received after March 31, 2023.
Documents and services:
- permanent resident travel documents
- certificates of Canadian citizenship (proof of citizenship), including replacements
- emergency travel documents for adults and children
- replacements of lost or stolen passports
- passport pick-up service
- Canadian temporary passports
