New temporary public policy for physicians
We introduced a temporary public policy for foreign national physicians who
- were invited to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry on or after April 25, 2023, and submitted an application
- have a job offer or work experience in providing publicly funded medical services in Canada (such as fee-for-service work)
Under this public policy, we now use more flexible criteria to assess if these candidates are eligible for
- the Canadian experience class or the Federal Skilled Worker Program
- points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for
- Canadian work experience
- arranged employment
